FORT WORTH, Texas (August 6, 2015) – Three seeded players remain in the singles main draw, while all the seeded teams dropped out of the doubles main draw on Thursday at the 2015 Holt Jeep $10K Fort Worth Women’s Pro Circuit Event at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center on the campus of TCU.
No. 1 seed in the singles main draw, Lou Brouleau of France, continued her winning streak by easily handling Alexa Graham of the United States, 6-2, 6-3. Zoe Hives of Australia, the No. 4 seed, remained alive in the draw after using three sets to defeat Veronica Miroschnichenko of Russia, 7-6(6), 4-6, 5-1 ret.
Brouleau and Hives will be featured on courts V1 and V2 in the second matches of the day on Friday.
The final ranked player of the draw still alive is No. 6 seed Giuliana Olmos of Mexico. The USC senior downed recent Georgia graduate Lauren Herring of the United States, 7-6(5), 6-4. Olmos will face off with TCU freshman and local favorite Marie Norris of the United States first tomorrow on court V1.
The final ranked pair of the main draw in doubles suffered defeat on Thursday, as the No. 3 pair of twin sisters, Alexandra and Kat Facey, fell to Jessica Ho and Olmos, 7-5, 7-6(5).
Ho and Olmos will take on TCU senior Mia King and Herring in the third match on court V1.
Due to a heat advisory, the quarterfinals of singles and the semifinals of doubles action on the Bernard J. ‘Tut’ Bartzen Varsity Courts will begin at 8 a.m., on Friday.
The Holt Jeep Women’s $10K USTA Pro Circuit event will continue to be held at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center on the campus of TCU until Sunday, Aug. 9. Professional athletes from around the world will be competing for $10,000 in prize money, as well as valuable WTA Tour Ranking points.
